What does this mean?
Residents who are given the status of “Entitled to Work” qualify for this status on the following grounds:
- They have lived in Jersey for 5 consecutive years
- They are married to or in a civil partnership with someone who is “Entitled”
- They are married to or in a civil partnership with someone who is “Licensed”
Residents who have this status can buy a property jointly with an “Entitled” spouse or civil partner. They can also lease a “Registered Property” (what was previously known as “unqualified”) in their own name. Residents who are “Entitled to work” are not subject to any restrictions on where they may work and do not require a Licence to work.
